Danbury Westerners News Release
Do you love baseball? Are you interested in impacting a young man's life and professional career? If so, YOU MAY BE A PERFECT HOST FAMILY!
Every year collegiate athletes come to Danbury for the summer to play for the Danbury Westerners. These players come from all over the United States to participate in the prestigious New England Collegiate Baseball League where they play forty-two games in sixty days. Our Host Family program is a vital part of our team's success both on and off the field. Living with a local family makes their stay in Danbury a home away from home and improves the quality of their experience.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE A HOST FAMILY?
* Willingness to welcome a young athlete into your home and provide a private bedroom for the summer.
* A home in close proximity to Danbury.
* Food arrangements are up to you. Because of the players' extensive schedule, most host families simply keep food available in the house and the players help themselves.
* Most players have their own cars for transportation. For those who don't, we pair them up with those who do.
