
Bayhawks Acquire Joe Boulukos From Philadelphia

TOWSON, Md. - The defending Major League Lacrosse champion Baltimore Bayhawks have acquired rookie midfielder Joe Boulukos from the Philadelphia Barrage in exchange for midfielder Paul Cantabene, it has been announced by Baltimore Head Coach Scott Hiller.
Boulukos, who was selected with the 16th overall selection in the Collegiate Draft by Chicago, was acquired by Philadelphia in a separate trade with the Machine. A 2006 graduate of Cornell, Boulukos played in one game with the Machine and scored two goals. He was named as a first-team All-America selection as a senior for the Big Red and was also named as the Ivy League Player of the Year. During his college career, he scored 89 goals with 36 assists.
A member of the Bayhawks since the inaugural 2001 campaign, Cantabene entered the 2006 season as the league's leader in face-off wins (958) and face-off win percentage (.550). He scored 48 goals with 26 assists in 62 career games with the Bayhawks. He also ranks as the team's career leader in penalties (43) and penalty minutes (39.0).
