BayBears Stun Suns with Thrilling Comeback

The Mobile BayBears topped the Jacksonville Suns 6-5 Saturday night at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. The BayBears overcame a 4-0 deficit, scoring two runs in the top of the seventh inning and three more runs in the top of the eighth to take a 5-4 lead. After the Suns tied the game at 5-5 in the bottom of the eighth, the BayBears again reclaimed the lead, scoring once in the top of the ninth inning to complete the come-from-behind victory.
The BayBears comeback started in the bottom of the seventh when Kyle Greene hit a one-out, RBI single with the bases loaded to score Brent Clevlen. Even Frey followed with a bases-loaded walk that allowed Ryan Strieby to cross the plate. In the eighth inning, David Nick tied the game at 4-4 with a RBI single that plated Matt Davidson. Again with the bases loaded, Evan Frey put Mobile ahead with a two-run single.
The Suns tied the score at 5-5 in the bottom of the eighth inning when Kyle Skipworth doubled and scored on a RBI single from Ben Lasater. The tie was short lived, as the BayBears posted the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth when Strieby drove in Alfredo Marte with a RBI single. LHP Eury De La Rosa preserved the lead and recorded his third save of the season, after holding the Suns scoreless in the bottom of the ninth inning.
