BayBears Pull Even with Suns After Walk-Off Win

MOBILE, AL - In took 11 innings but the Mobile BayBears walked-off with a 4-3 win at Hank Aaron Stadium Friday night. With the score tied at 3-3, Tom Belza came to bat with no outs in the bottom of the 11th and drove a double down the left field line. After one out was recorded, Belza moved to third and Todd Glaesmann came off the bench and brought home the winning run with a walk-off RBI single. The Mobile victory allowed the BayBears to tie the best of five set at 1-1 as the series now shifts to Jacksonville.
The Suns struck first in the first inning, taking a 3-0 lead on one swing. With two runners on, Viosergy Rosa pulled a three-run homer over the wall in right off of BayBears RHP Braden Shipley. The long ball would be the only blemish on Shiply's line as the right-hander allowed just the three runs on five hits in seven innings of work before settling for a no decision.
Mobile drew back within one run, scoring a pair in the bottom of the second inning. Dustin Martin began the frame with a single and Mitch Haniger followed with a double. The next batter, Argenis Diaz grounded out to third to score Martin and Evan Marzilli plated Haniger with a RBI base hit back up the middle.
The score remained 3-2 until Mobile tied the game in the bottom of the eighth inning when Ryan Court reached with a pinch-hit single and Belza drove in Court with a run scoring double.
The Mobile win snapped an 11 game winning streak for the Suns and halted a six game skid for the BayBears. Mobile and Jacksonville continue the best of five series from Bragan Field at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville Saturday night at 7:05 PM ET.
