
Bay Sox Prepare to Open Season

New Bedford Bay Sox News Release
The New Bedford Bay Sox players and coaches have arrived in town to begin preparations for their Opening Night game against the Laconia Muskrats, on Thursday, June 7th, at 6:30PM at Paul Walsh field . This will be the first Bay Sox game managed by former Red Sox center fielder Rick Miller. The roster (www.nbbaysox.com) includes college pro prospects from around the country including five local stars.
"I couldn't be more excited about this season," noted Bay Sox General Manager Andrew Cormier. "Our offense is better and our pitching is as strong as last season. With Rick Miller leading our team we should have our most successful season."
The gates will open at 4:30PM on Thursday and the first 300 kids who enter the park will receive a free baseball courtesy of Dick's Sporting Goods. The players will stay on the field after the game to sign autographs on these baseballs.
Mayor Jon Mitchell will throw out the ceremonial first pitch to get the season underway.
