June 30, 2013 - New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL)
New Bedford Bay Sox News Release
New Bedford struggled to get runners to cross home plate Sunday night in their 2-0 loss to the Mystic Schooners. The game was called in the top of the 6th inning due to unplayable conditions.
The Bay Sox only hits came from singles by Carl Anderson (Bryant) and Chris Travers (Roger Williams University). The Bay Sox had more trouble with the bat due to strong pitching from Mystic's starting pitcher, Kurt Sowa (Rider). He managed to strike out 7 batters in 5 innings on the mound.
The game was halted in the top of the 6th and called shortly after. The Bay Sox drop to 5-11 for the season and Mystic improves to 10-7.
The next home game for the Bay Sox is Monday July 1st against Ocean State at 6:30.
