
Bay Sox Congratulate Nunes on New Position with Cyclones

NEW BEDFORD, MA (Wednesday, May 30, 2012) - The Bay Sox are proud to announce that Courtney Nunes has recently accepted a 2012 position working in media relations for the Brooklyn Cyclones, a single-A minor league baseball team affiliated with the New York Mets in the New York-Penn League.
Nunes is a resident of New Bedford and 2011 graduate of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. For the past 3 years, she has been responsible for the Bay Sox public relations.
"Courtney has been a true team player, always willing to help someone out. She has done a tremendous job writing up game reports and providing information to various internal and external sources throughout the years," said Bay Sox President Pat O'Connor.
Nunes has maintained the Bay Sox Website, Facebook and Twitter accounts, as well as the Constant Contact email marketing. She has spearheaded efforts with special events, player profiles, the development of the game program, schedules, promotional material, and basically all team correspondence.
"Courtney is an all-around All-Star player for the Bay Sox and she will be missed this year," said O'Connor, "The entire Bay Sox family thanks Courtney for the fantastic job she has done for the organization and the community."
Nunes's role as director of public relations for the 2012 season is being assumed by Shannon McCarthy of Westport, MA. McCarthy is currently enrolled at Roanoke College in Roanoke, Virginia, and has excellent skills and passion for this new assignment with the Bay Sox. McCarthy has grown up around baseball and has been an avid Boston sports fan her entire life. She is very excited to dive into this new position.
