
Battery Takes On College Of Charleston In Final Tune-Up

Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery takes on the College of Charleston on Saturday morning (April 10) at the Patriots Point Soccer Complex in its final preseason match. The game is set to kick off at 11 AM; there is no charge for admission. The Battery's pre-season squad has several links with the Cougars including former College of Charleston goalkeeper and current C of C assistant coach Keith Wiggans.
Midfielder and former Cougar Zach Prince could face his former team on Saturday and the Battery's assistant coach Ian Fuller was also an assistant with the Cougars during this past season.
Charleston Battery head coach Mike Anhaeuser will be using the match as a final tune-up for his squad ahead of next Saturday's (April 17) season opener in Charlotte versus the Charlotte Eagles (7:30 PM, 1450 AM / charlestonbattery.com). The Battery's home opener is set for Saturday, April 24 versus the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at Blackbaud Stadium, Daniel Island. Charleston Battery Home Opener 2010 is presented by MUSC and includes post-game fireworks.
