
Battery set for USL PRO quarterfinal versus LA Blues

Charleston, SC. - The Charleston Battery squares off with the LA Blues in a USL PRO playoff quarterfinal this Saturday night at Blackbaud Stadium; gates open at 6:00 p.m. with kick off set for 7:30 p.m. The Battery finished the USL PRO regular season as the third seed earning the right to host a quarterfinal match versus the sixth seeded Blues.

Saturday's game will be broadcast live on Sports Radio 1450 AM presented by the Angie Gainey Bailey Real Estate team and will also be available at www.USLNation.com.
The Charleston Battery are the defending USL PRO champions; Charleston defeated the Wilmington Hammerheads 1-0 in the 2012 championship match to earn its fourth USL title.
The Battery split a two-game regular season with LA in 2013 winning the first match 3-0 at Blackbaud Stadium on July 27 behind goals from Nicki Paterson, Dane Kelly and Heviel Cordoves. LA Blues won the return fixture 2-1 in Los Angeles on August 8 with Dane Kelly scoring the lone Battery goal and LA's Matt Fondy recording both Blues goals.
Forward Dane Kelly led the way for the Battery during the regular season scoring 11 goals with 2 assists in 24 games played. Nicki Paterson and Heviel Cordoves both recorded 7 goals for the season with midfielder Mike Azira scoring 5.
The Battery were solid at home in 2013 winning 9 games at Blackbaud Stadium, with 4 ties and just 1 loss.
Charleston Battery head coach Mike Anhaeuser should have a full squad to select from on Saturday with the return of midfielder Nicki Paterson who served a one game suspension in the final game of the regular season.
The winner of the Battery vs Blues quarterfinal will face the winner of the Orlando City (2) vs Pittsburgh Riverhounds (7) match in a USL PRO semifinal on August 31,
