Battery Set for Two Game Road Trip

Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery takes on the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on Saturday night at Highmark Stadium with kick off set for 6:00 PM. On Sunday the Battery will complete the two-game road-trip with a 4:05 PM match versus the Rochester Rhinos. Both games will be broadcast live on ESPN 910 AM The Team.

The Charleston Battery (0-1-3) enters the weekend matches still looking for its first win of the 2014 USL PRO season. The Battery's last match was a 1-1 tie with MLS's New York Red Bulls reserves in a game played at Blackbaud Stadium last Friday night.

In a game that featured incessant rain throughout, Charleston fell behind after the Red Bulls were awarded and converted a second half penalty. The Battery equalized through Dane Kelly in the 74th minute after the Jamaican swept home a Heviel Cordoves cross.

Charleston Battery captain Colin Falvey received a red card late in the game and will serve a suspension on Saturday in Pittsburgh. Falvey should be available for selection for Sunday's match in Rochester.

Pittsburgh (0-2-2) is also still looking for its first win of the year. Through four games the Riverhounds have lost two and tied two. Pittsburgh's last game was a 2-2 tie with the Richmond Kickers in a game played in Richmond last Saturday night.

The Battery played Pittsburgh twice in 2013 winning 2-0 at Blackbaud Stadium and then forcing a 1-1 tie in the return fixture in Pittsburgh.

The Riverhounds finished as the seventh overall seed in 2013, advancing to the playoffs but were eliminated by eventual champions Orlando City 5-0 in the quarterfinal round.

The Charleston Battery's next home match is set for Saturday, May 10 vs the Wilmington Hammerheads; gates open at 6:00 PM with kick off set for 7:30 PM ($10 - $18, (843) 971-4625 / www.charlestonbattery.com).
