
Battery Heads to Harrisburg and Dayton

Charleston Battery News Release
Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery faces of pair of road matches this week with a Wednesday night game in Harrisburg followed by a Friday night match in Dayton. Both games kick off at 7 PM and will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1450 AM WQNT. The Battery enters the road-trip on the back of a 2-0 home win versus the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.
Midfielder Mike Azira scored both Battery goals in Saturday's nights win over Pittsburgh. Azira headed home his first goal of the season in the 24th minute and added a second just after the hour mark finishing neatly from a Zach Prince pass.
The Battery (2-1-0), 6 points, is currently in 7th position in the USL PRO tables.
The Harrisburg City Islanders are off to an excellent start to the 2013 season with three wins out of three games played including a 5-1 demolition of the Rochester Rhinos on Saturday night. The win over Rochester was Harrisburg's 100th home win in franchise history.
The Battery defeated the City Islanders by a score of two goals to one in the quarterfinal round of last years USL PRO playoffs en route to its fourth championship.
On Friday night Charleston will face the Dayton Dutch Lions in the second match of the road-trip. Dayton (2-1-0), 6 points lost 4-0 to Orlando City in their last match played on Saturday night in Orlando.
Viewing Parties
There will be a viewing party for both matches at Molly Darcy's Irish Pub located at 235 East Bay Street, downtown Charleston. Both games will be broadcast live on SportsRadio1450 AM presented by the Angie Gainey Bailey Real Estate Team and will also be streamed live at www.USLnation.com.
Dragon Boat Festival
Following the games this week the Charleston Battery will compete as a team in the Dragon Boat Charleston Festival on Saturday at Brittlebank Park. The Battery are the defending champions in the men's division; for more information please visit: www.dragonboatcharleston.org.
