Bats Back up Staff's Shutout

June 23, 2018 - Great West League (GWL)
Medford Rogues News Release

ALAMEDA, Ca. - The Rogues used a six-run fifth inning and another gem by reigning Great West League co-Pitcher of the Week, Tanner Simpson, to propel them past the San Francisco Seals, 10-0. Simpson struck out nine Seals over 5.2 innings.

This was the Rogues second staff shutout of the year.

Second baseman Tate Cowden (Antelope Valley) made a terrific defensive play in the seventh inning to preserve the shutout. With runners on first and second and nobody out, Seals left fielder Louis Gaitley hit a ground ball up the middle that kicked up off the rubber into the air. Cowden stuck with the play; he handled the ball, stepped on second base for one out, and then threw to first for the second out.

Tomorrow night, your Rogues will play in their first double-header of the season. The first game of the double-header against the Seals will start at 4:05pm, pregame show at 3:45pm. There will be a half hour intermission in between the double-header. You can watch every pitch of every game this season online for free on TableRockSports.net
