Barrage's Chris Rotelli Named ACC Male Athlete of the Year

Bridgeport, CT – (July 26, 2003) – The Bridgeport Barrage, Connecticut's only professional lacrosse team and a charter member of Major League Lacrosse (MLL), announced today that rookie Chris Rotelli has been selected as the recipient of the Anthony J. McKevlin Award as the Atlantic Coast Conference's 2002-2003 Male Athlete of the Year. Chris was also honored as the 2003 winner of the Tewaarton Award, which is the Heisman Trophy of Lacrosse.

Rotelli became the first Men's lacrosse player to be given such an honor after leading the Cavaliers of Virginia to the National Championship. Rotelli was the first midfielder in 37 years to lead the Virginia offense in scoring with 49 points (26g, 23a). The Barrage were fortunate to have the first pick of the 2003 Collegiate Draft and selected Rotelli who now has 6 points (5g, 1a) on the season.
