Barrage Win Overtime, Defeating Denver 13-12 Philadelphia defeated the Denver Outlaws in an exciting overtime thriller, 13-12. They advance to the NB Zip Championship Game.

Downingtown, PA (August 11, 2007) - In an exciting thriller that kept fans on the edge of their seats, the Philadelphia Barrage defeated the Denver Outlaws 13-12 in overtime. The Barrage will advance to the NB Zip Championship Game tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. Roy Colsey scored the game winning goal for the Barrage en route to being named the Bud Light MVP of the game. Colsey also had five points (4G, 1A).

Each team went goal for goal to start off the first quarter, tying the game at two all. Seth Goldberg scored the go ahead goal for the Barrage followed by a goal from Roy Colsey to end the first 15 minutes of play. Matt Striebel scored his second goal of the game early in the second to give the Barrage a five-goal lead. Denver then answered back scoring six unanswered to give them a three-goal lead going into halftime.

Back up goalkeeper for the Barrage, Kevin Keenan, started the third quarter for the Barrage and got acquainted early with a quick save. Colsey scored a two-point goal get them back in the game and bring them within one. The Outlaws kept up a two-goal cushion with a goal from Drew Westervelt, they kept up the scoring with a goal from Josh Sims putting their lead up to three. Justin Smith scored his first goal of the game with three minutes left in the third, followed by another goal from Colsey, his third of the afternoon. Denver scored two in a row to end the third quarter of play, ahead by three. The Barrage came alive in the fourth quarter with the return of Brian Dougherty. Dougherty made huge saves to keep his team in the game, not allowing Denver to score another goal. Goldberg scored his second goal of the game followed by a goal from Ryan Boyle, leaving the Barrage trailing by one. In a great turnover right in front of the Denver net, Kevin Cassese put it by Outlaws goalie, Trevor Tierney to tie the game at 12, putting the game into overtime.

Dougherty made an important save to start overtime; Philadelphia retained possession and called time out to settle down their offense. Striebel took a wide shot that was recovered by Springer. Colsey took a shot from just inside the two-point arc putting it past Tierney giving his team their 10th win this season.

Philadelphia advances to the NB Zip Championship Game on Sunday, August 26 at 1:00 p.m. The game will be aired LIVE on ESPN2. The Barrage will face the winner of the second semi-final game scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. this evening. Tickets are available for the championship game by calling 585-454-5425.
