
Barrage Partner With FedEx for 2006 Season

Philadelphia, PA (March 20, 2006) - The Philadelphia Barrage of Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, announced today a sponsorship with FedEx. The Barrage will present the FedEx High School Coach of the Year Award to a coach from both a boys' and girls' sport in the tri-state area at the final Barrage home game this season.
The Barrage can nominate coaches (one boys' sport and one girls' sport) from the following sports: Football, Soccer, Basketball, Lacrosse, Baseball, Softball and Field Hockey. Criteria to be named a finalist will be based on their coaching record for the year and their career record, they must have had an impact on the sport in the past year, how many years they have been involved with the sport and must be an active coach within the past 12 months. Finalists will be announced and invited to the first five Barrage home games where they will receive a plaque during half time. At the sixth and final home game, all finalists will return and the winners of the FedEx High School Coach of the Year will be announced and awarded with plaques during a special in-game ceremony.
Philadelphia opens their season on May 20 at historic Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania, followed by five games at Villanova University. Season tickets are on sale now.
