Jacksonville Barracudas News Release

Jacksonville, FL - The Jacksonville Barracudas announced today that the team will be participating in the Kids Kampus Freedom Festival on Sunday, July 4th at Metropolitan Park. Kids Freedom Festival is part of the Freedom, Fanfare & Fireworks 4th of July celebration presented by the City of Jacksonville.

During the Kids Kampus Freedom Festival, the Barracudas will provide children of all ages with the opportunity to test their hockey skills while shooting for great prizes in the Barracudas inflatable slap shot booth. Kids Kampus at Metropolitan Park is a ten-acre recreational facility with bright, colorful, climbing, digging and sliding equipment with an educational twist. Developed with local educators, Kids Kampus allows children to enjoy playscapes and mini Jacksonville landmarks. A picnic pavilion, a jogging trail and a refreshing splash park provide fun and relaxing activities for families. The Barracudas will manage the slap shot booth between noon and 4pm. Chomper, the teams mascot is also expected to make an appearance to sign autographs for the kids.

After the Kids Kampus Freedom Festival, the celebration continues with a free concert at Metropolitan Park featuring Diamond Rio with Joe Nichols, Patty Loveless and Josh Turner. This birthday bash is topped off by Skyblast, the First Coast's biggest and most spectacular 4th of July fireworks display over the St. Johns River.

The Barracudas are currently accepting season ticket applications for the 2004-05 season. For more information call the Barracudas at (904) 367-1-ICE (1423).
