Barracudas Release Schedule

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Barracudas today announced the Barracudas 2003-04 WHA2 60-game schedule.

The Barracudas will kick off the season on Friday, November 7th in Alabama. They will play four games on the road before returning home for the Home Opener Celebration on Friday, November 28th against the Miami Manatees.

The Barracudas will play a 30-game home schedule in the brand new 16,000 seat Jacksonville Veteran's Memorial Arena. Face-off time for the home dates is 7:05 except for two Saturday afternoon matinees. Of the 30 home dates, 26 are on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, two match ups on Tuesday nights, one Thursday night game, and a Wednesday night New Years Eve battle.

Jacksonville will also have the proud honor of hosting the Inaugural WHA2 All-Star Game on Tuesday, January 27th.

"Even though Orlando won a championship in 2003, the WHA2 really doesn't have a defending champion," said Peter Young, President, Hockey Operations WHA2. "With that in mind we decided that for the inaugural season we would host the All-Star game in the premiere facility in the league. There is no question that the new rink in Jacksonville will be just that."

The Barracudas will play the Alabama Slammers, Lakeland Loggerheads, Macon Trax, Miami Manatees, and the Orlando Seals with all games, home and away, being broadcast live on the Barracudas website through IRN.fm. Director of Communications, Woody Carlson will handle all the play-by-play duties with Howard Brigance handling the color commentary for home games.
