
Bandits eliminated from Robertson Cup

Wenatchee, WA- The St. Louis Bandits run for a fourth consecutive NAHL Robertson Cup Championship came to an end early Saturday evening when Fairbanks defeated Bismarck 4-3 to mathematically eliminate the three-time defending champions.
St. Louis finished the round-robin portion of the Robertson Cup with a 1-3 record after a 5-4 overtime loss against the Wenatchee Wild late Saturday night.
Bandits forward Ryan Stouffer scored two goals in the game for St. Louis. Stouffer led the Bandits in the playoffs with a team high six goals.
Brooks Bertsch and Ryan Belonger also scored for the Bandits in the loss.
The Bandits reached the Robertson Cup Championship after two thrilling playoff series against the Texas Tornado and the Topeka Roadrunners.
In the first round against Texas, St. Louis was 12 seconds away from elimination in a decisive Game 5 before scoring a game tying goal and winning the series on a Grant Gettinger goal in overtime.
The Bandits won the South Division Finals and punched a ticket to the Robertson Cup by defeating the Topeka Roadrunners in a hard fought five game series. After dropping Game 4 of the series at home, the Bandits won Game 5 in Topeka in convincing fashion defeating the Roadrunners 5-0.
The Fairbanks IceDogs and the Bismarck Bobcats will play in the Robertson Cup Championship game tomorrow at 7:05pm St. Louis time.
