Crystal Palace Baltimore News Release

July 2nd 2009 - Baltimore, MD - Crystal Palace Baltimore make the day-trip to Harrisburg on Friday, July 3 to take on the league-leading City Islanders at 7:05 pm at the Skyline Sports Complex. This will be the first of three regular season meetings between the two sides this year. The teams will face off again the following Friday in Baltimore, then in Harrisburg again on August 7.

Palace currently sit fifth in the league table, five points behind Harrisburg who top the standings. Palace's recent return to form was dented by Real Maryland on Monday night in a 1-0 defeat, while Harrisburg, fresh from their 2-1 upset of the New England Revolution in the US Open Cup, are coming off a loss and a tie in back-to-back league fixtures last weekend. The 2008 season saw Palace and the City Islanders meet four times in all competitions with Baltimore winning three and losing one. Two of those wins were at the Skyline Sports Complex.

Crystal Palace Baltimore Co-Manager Jim Cherneski remarked: "We lacked significant urgency in the game against Real Maryland, but we're coming out fired up tomorrow night."

Fellow Co-Manager, Pete Medd added: "We created several great opportunities in front of goal in the second half, but we missed absolute sitters and we just can't do that."

There are no new injuries to report, but there are expected to be several changes to the starting eleven based on Monday's performance. Paul Robson is likely to walk straight back into the lineup after serving his one-game suspension against Real Maryland due to yellow card accumulation.

Palace face the City Islanders again on Friday July 10 at 7:30pm back at UMBC Stadium in Baltimore. Palace take a short break from league action after that, welcoming their sister club from London - Crystal Palace UK - for an exhibition match at Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf, Maryland on Monday July 13. Harrisburg host the Palace UK side for the second exhibition game of their US tour on July 16 at 7:05pm at Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Tickets are currently still available for all remaining Palace Baltimore home fixtures, including the Palace UK match, either online at http://www.crystalpalaceusa.com/ or by calling 410.933.TEAM(8326).
