HUNTSVILLE, AL - The af2 league office announced today that Tennessee Valley Vipers defensive specialist, Kenny Bailey, has been named ADT Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the 66-31 win over Wichita this past Saturday night.
Bailey helped the Vipers go 9-0 on the season when he recorded a career-high 12.0 tackles, 10 solo, intercepted a pass and broke up three more. He returned the interception 33 yards for a touchdown to put the Vipers up by three scores in the third quarter. The Vipers outscored the Stealth 42-14 in the second half.
He now leads the team with 40.5 tackles despite missing the first three games with a broken foot. He also has eight pass break ups. The former All-American from Delaware is in his second season with the Vipers.
Bailey is the third Viper to receive league honors this season. Jerrian James and Ronney Daniels have both been named Ironman of the Week this season. James received the award for his performance against Cape Fear and Daniels for his game at Bossier City.

The Vipers host the Columbus Wardogs this Saturday night at the Von Braun Center. Kickoff is set for 7:30 with the first 1,500 adults 19 and over will receive an Official Vipers Replica Jersey.
