Pre-season tournament
The PBL's 2010 play begins with the three-day pre-season Champlain Cup tournament in Barre, Vermont, at the Barre Municipal Auditorium from December 27- 29, 2009. The Quebec City Kebs kick off the tournament at 2:05 p.m. against arch rivals the Vermont Frost Heaves, who won the Champlain Cup last year. The Kebs will then face the Manchester Millrats at 7:05 p.m. on December 28.
The Champlain Cup tournament is sure to be an explosive event setting the pace for the 2010 PBL season. The winning team will be announced after the December 29th game between Manchester and Vermont.
Back to back season opening game action in Quebec!
There is an explosive new twist in the 2010 PBL schedule. No longer will teams be confined within their divisions for a shot at the championship. Each team will play each other twice, once with a home court advantage and the other visiting. The 2010 season is the fourth professional season for the Quebec City Kebs of the PBL, as such they will be playing additional games throughout the regular season against their 'natural rivals' the Buffalo Stampede, Halifax Rainmen and Rochester Razorsharks.
Pierre is confident that the new game schedule strategy for 2010 will bring a higher level to the game. He is also anxious to see the talent from the new teams. "I am really curious about the players from Puerto Rico. I know they have a lot of good players there; I mean they beat the U.S. Olympic team."
The 2010 PBL season will open the weekend of January 2 and 3, during which the Kebs will play back-to-back games in Quebec City. The Kebs' first official game will be against the Buffalo Stampede at 7:30 p.m. on January 2 at the Peps stadium, Laval University Quebec. On January 3, the Kebs will welcome the Rochester Razorsharks.
