B-Sens Release Brock Matheson, Sign Defenseman Bob Raymond

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that they have released defenseman Brock Matheson from his amateur try-out contract. Also today, the Binghamton Senators announced that they have signed defenseman Bob Raymond to a professional try-out contract.

Matheson, 23, recently completed his fourth season at Union College where he served as the team's co-captain. In 40 games this season, Matheson posted a career-high 10 points on three goals and seven assists. In four years with the Dutchmen he scored nine goals, 15 assists and recorded 123 penalty minutes in 141 games.

The Gananoque, Ont. native appeared in two regular season games with the B-Sens this season, recording no points and amassing two penalty minutes.

Raymond, 26, spent the 2010-11 regular season with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL where registered eight goals, 25 assists and added 68 penalty minutes in 72 games.

A native of Lucknow, Ontario, Raymond played four seasons (2005-09) at Rochester Institute of Technology, collecting 41 points (12 goals, 29 assists) in 139 career games for the Tigers.

The Binghamton Senators travel to Portland to take on the Pirates in Game 1 of the best-of-seven Atlantic Division Finals on Wednesday, April 27 at 7 p.m. Fans can listen live on 680 WINR-AM or Team 1200 (Ottawa) beginning 30 minutes before the game for Countdown to Face Off with Grady Whittenburg, voice of the B-Sens.
