
B-Sens Present Star Wars Night, Dollars For Scholars And More This Saturday

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that Saturday, Jan. 26 is STAR WARS Night as the B-Sens host the Hershey Bears at 7:05 p.m.
Fans will have the opportunity to meet and take pictures with movie authentic characters including Chewbacca, Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers. Darth Vader will even part take in a ceremonial puck drop.
Members of Garrison Excelsior of the 501st Legion will be selling lightsabers at the game for $5. Proceeds from the lightsaber sales will benefit A Room to Heal. The Broome County based charity, with the help of over 200 volunteers, has provided healing environments in the homes of 40 children suffering from a critical illness.
Also on Saturday, the B-Sens will have a pair of giveaways. The first 500 fans 18 years of age and older through the doors at 6 p.m. will receive a buy one, get one free lottery coupon courtesy of New York Lottery. The first 500 kids through the doors at 6 p.m. will receive a set of ThunderStix courtesy of H&R Block.
Additionally in a special pre-game event the B-Sens will host the second annual Dollars for Scholars charity hockey game. Doors will open at 4 p.m. for the charity game set to take place at 4:30 p.m.
Members of the Binghamton police department will take on teachers from the Windsor Central School District in a special hockey game to benefit the Windsor/Kirkwood Dollars for Scholars Scholarship Fund.
Dollars for Scholars, a division of Scholarship America, boasts nearly 1,100 locally based, volunteer-driven chapters serving students in nearly 3,500 communities across the country. Dollars for Scholars chapters help hometown students achieve their educational goals by raising scholarship funds, establishing endowments, providing assistance with college readiness and the financial aid process, and distributing scholarships each year.
Tickets can be purchased for $18 and include admission to both the Dollars for Scholars charity hockey game and the B-Sens game. $5 from each ticket sold through this special offer will be donated to the Windsor/Kirkwood Dollars for Scholars Scholarship Fund.
