Binghamton Senators News Release
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Binghamton Senators General Manager Randy Lee announced today the staffing additions of the team's first full-time Goaltending Development Coach Kory Cooper, Video Coach, Dylan Crawford and Assistant Equipment Manager, Michael Boyes.
"We're thrilled to add three quality individuals to our staff," said Lee. "Kory's hiring will enable us to provide one-on-one goaltending instruction on a virtual daily basis while Dylan and Michael also have proven track records in hockey and will be of great assistance to both the coaching and training staffs respectively."
Cooper joins B-Sens' Head Coach Kurt Kleinendorst's staff as the team's first full-time Goaltending Development Coach after spending the last three seasons as the Goaltending Coach with the Ontario Hockey League's Mississauga Steelheads. He also spent five seasons with the OHL's Kingston Frontenacs in the same capacity. A former OHL netminder, the native of Winsloe, P.E.I., began his professional career in 1996 with the American Hockey League's Portland Pirates and saw his playing career span an additional nine seasons in various professional leagues in North America.
Crawford joins Kleinendorst's staff as the team's Video Coach and will primarily be responsible for the breakdown of video footage and instruction while also assisting team management with both on and off-ice operations. Prior to his hiring in Binghamton, Crawford spent four years as a private consultant in the British Columbia Minor Hockey Program before joining the development staff of the Vancouver Canucks in 2011. The native of Cornwall, Ont., also spent time in a similar capacity with the Dallas Stars. Crawford worked most recently for the National Hockey League and the NHL Network in the video and television department.
Boyes, who joins Head Equipment Manager Matt Mitchell's staff, spent the past two seasons as the Equipment Manager with the Ontario Hockey League's Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. A native of Whitby, Ont., Boyes also served as an Assistant Equipment Manager for nine seasons with the OHL's Oshawa Generals and also has experience at the national level, including work at the Team Ontario U17 Hockey Challenge, Hockey Canada POE Goaltending Camp, Hockey Canada National U17 Development Camp, Home Hardware CHL Top Prospects Game and the ADT Canada/Russia Challenge.
