Minnesota Axemen News Release

Bemidji, MN - The Bemidji Axemen are proud to announce that an agreement has been reached with the De La Hunt Broadcasting Group to carry all Axemen games for the 2014 season.

Starting in February, all fourteen home and away games will be broadcast on radio stations WBKK 820AM Bemidji and KPRM 870AM Park Rapids. WBKK can also be heard on FM translator 103.1FM Bemidji. Being on three stations will allow for every Axemen game to be heard in greater Northern Minnesota including Bemidji, Brainerd, International Falls, Duluth, St. Cloud, Grand Forks, ND; and Fargo, ND. WBKK is also exploring additional platforms such as internet/smartphone streaming of Axemen games. Recently, WBKK(AM) was added to the Paul Bunyan Cable system PBTV Channel 950 and PBTV Fusion Channel 1050.

"From day one, we've been working to make our product a mainstay in the Northland," team president Chris Kokalis reflected. "With this partnership with the De La Hunt Broadcasting Group, we think it's a tremendous way to market both the Axemen and the City of Bemidji to a big portion of the Upper Midwest."

As a part of the partnership, the Axemen will also have a weekly Coaches show during the season.

"We're excited to be able to partner with the De La Hunt Broadcasting Group for our weekly coaches show," Axemen head coach Robert Fuller stated. "It will allow us to provide our listeners insight on the games and discuss all things Axemen football."

Richard De La Hunt, Station Manager of WBKK, echoed his excitement of bringing Axemen Football to the airwaves stating "Axeman Football is huge for the Bemidji area and we welcome them to our network of stations."
