Minnesota Axemen News Release
Bemidji, MN - The Bemidji Axemen have signed four participants from the 2014 Free Agent Combine held this past weekend in Fargo, ND. The Axemen have signed offensive linemen William Slade, fullback/linebacker Brent Kondziolka, defensive back Larry Miller, Jr., and wide receiver Ernest Dorsett III to contracts for the upcoming 2015 season.
Slade (6'0, 325) provides the Axemen with needed depth at the offensive line position with the ability to play both center and guard. After playing with Northland Community College for two seasons, Slade joined the Beavers in 2012. Slade is currently majoring in criminal justice at Bemidji State University.
Kondziolka (6'1, 228) brings versatility with the ability to play both fullback and linebacker for the team. Kondziolka was a three year starter at Bemidji State, finishing his career for the Beavers with 444 all-purpose yards and eight touchdowns. He also served as captain for the 2013 team.
Miller, Jr. (5'11, 185) gives the Axemen another solid defensive back on the roster. As a three year starter for Bemidji State, Miller accumulated 118 tackles, six interceptions, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. Miller joined Kondziolka as a captain for the 2013 Beaver team.
Dorsett III (5'10, 170) displayed excellent hands and quickness at the combine, earning a training camp spot at wide receiver with the Axemen. Dorsett last played for St. Cloud State in 2010 as a wide receiver and kick returner. He was third on the team at wide receiver with 24 receptions for 174 yards and second on the team in kick, accumulating 124 yards and a 13.8 yards per return average. Dorsett II is the great-nephew of NFL Hall of Fame running back Tony Dorsett.
The Bemidji Axemen kickoff their season February 8 against the Minnesota Sting on Palace Casino Field at the Sanford Center. Season tickets are now on sale starting as low as $56 each and can be purchased online through www.bemidjiaxemen.com or by calling the Axemen offices at (218)444-8216.
