Minnesota Axemen News Release
BEMIDJI, MN - What position wins an Indoor Football League championship? The casual Indoor Football League would probably say quarterback or wide receiver. After all, when you toss ten touchdowns or find paydirt on five receptions a game, it's hard to lose. Now take that question and ask it to Bemidji Axemen owner and team president Chris Kokalis; you'll find a much different response.
"To put a great product on the field, a team has to be very solid in every aspect of the game," Kokalis stated. "That's why when the chance came to sign Scott Enos, it was an easy choice."
Enos joins the Axemen after spending time with the Cedar Rapids Titans during the 2012 season, in which in scored nine field goals in seven games. Prior to that, Enos kicked at the University of Hawaii, becoming one of the most decorated placekickers in school history. After his 2010 senior campaign, Enos was named 2nd Team All-WAC and set seven different school kicking records including consecutive PATs made in a career (105-of-105) and single-season record for most PATs made (71). Enos also ranked 22nd nationally in scoring at the end of 2010, averaging 8.7 points per game.
"I'd like to thank Chris Kokalis and the Bemidji Axemen for giving me the opportunity toplay the game I love," Enos stated. "I'm very excited to be in a new place, and I look forward to meeting the people in the community."
The team is closing in on hiring a coach and expects to introduce him to the community in the coming weeks. Season tickets are now on sale and start as low as $56 each with the season kicking off in mid February.
