Aviators Suffer Home Loss to Sliders
July 16, 2018 - Prospect League (Prospect)
Lafayette Aviators News Release
Lafayette suffered their second straight loss with a 9-7 defeat to the Springfield Sliders.
The game started well for the Aviators, as Jason Cryar got the scoring started with a two-run home run in the very 1st inning. They'd jump out to a 3-0 lead with a Matthew Patton RBI in the 3rd.
The Sliders, however, would begin their scoring run in the top of the 4th, registering at least one run per inning until the 8th. The big inning for the visitors was the 5th, where they scored four runs and took a lead that they would not relinquish.
Lafayette would tie it in the 6th after scoring three runs, but Springfield would immediately pull back ahead with a two-run 7th.
The Aviators return to action on Tuesday with a doubleheader at home against the Danville Dans. The first game is scheduled to start at 5:35 pm.
