Aviators announce training camp roster

Edmonton, April 12, 2004- Listed below is the roster for the Edmonton Aviators 2004 A-League Training Camp. The training camp will run April 13th through to April 17th. All practices are scheduled to take place at Foote Field (weather permitting).The squad will initially be divided into two, and are listed below as Team Green and Team Red.

The Edmonton Aviators Soccer Club will be adding and deleting players from the roster as required throughout the week. Daily media advisories will be sent out throughout the week and will include updated rosters.

Goalie 6’6” 200lbs 24 Played NCAA in Florida. Played in Vancouver Pacific Coast league.

Ryan Callaway

Goalie 6’4” 195lbs 24 Played for NAIT Ooks. Was team MVP 2001, and set ACAC goalkeepers records

Liam DeSilva 2 Defender 6’2” 190lbs

Previously played in A-League for Calgary Storm.

Enzo Ferrari 3 Defender 6’2” 190lbs 22 Italian player with Division 1 experience in Chile and Argentina.

Claudio Salinas 5 Defender 6’0” 170lbs 30 Chilean division 1 player. Last played for Colo-Colo.

Chris Devlin 6 Defender 6’1” 185lbs 30 Played CIS for Dalhousie University in Halifax. Won national CIS championship in 1995. Veteran of Alberta Major League.

Kurt Bosch 7 Defender 5’8” 155lbs 28 Played in A-League for Calgary Storm and Montreal Impact. Spent 3 years with Edmonton Drillers (1997-2000)

Rick Titus 8 Midfielder 6’1” 175lbs 35 Professional soccer veteran played last in the A-League for the Charleston Battery. 2001 A-League “Defender of the year”. Played for the Edmonton Drillers.

Jaime Lopresti 10 Midfielder 5’9” 175lbs 30 Played majority of career in Chilean Division 1 league. Last played for Colo-Colo.

Nikola Vignjevic 11 Midfielder 6’2” 165lbs 33 A professional soccer veteran, the Serbian Vignjevic played in Edmonton for the Drillers. He has also played in the A-League for the Toronto Lynx.

Vikram Kaushal 12 Midfielder

21 Has played in the Alberta Major League for Edmonton Scottish.

Eric Munoz 13 Midfielder 5’7” 160lbs 26 Eric is a former U of A Golden Bears player who later went on the play for the University of Memphis. Also played briefly for the Edmonton Drillers.

Chris Lemire 14 Midfielder 5’7” 150lbs 21 Played in A-League for the Calgary Storm and Montreal Impact. Played on Canadian National U-20 team.

Sean Fraser 15 Midfielder 5’9” 161lbs 23 Played NCAA soccer for the University of Memphis. Member of the 1998 Canadian U-20 National Team.

Damian Pottinger 17 Forward 5’10” 180lbs 22 Played NCAA with Duquesne University where he has consistently been a conference all-start.

Desmond Taiki 18 Forward 5’6” 150lbs 19 Played college in B.C for Capilano College.

Stephan Spencer 19 Forward 5’9” 176lbs 25 Local product plays for Concordia College.

Philip Thiele 20 Defender n/a n/a n/a Former Millwoods Warrior product played for the University of Memphis.

Simon Kassaye 4 Defender 6’0” 170lbs 19 Plays for the Canadian U-20 team. Played in the Alberta Major League for Edmonton Victoria.

Andrew McCuloch 5 Defender 5’11” 170lbs 19 Played for the B.C U-18 provincial team as well as Surrey United.

Robin Hart 6 Defender 5’8” 160lbs 26 Winnipeg native played in the Manitoba Major Soccer League. Also played for Trinidad and Tobago’s U-23 National team. Has professional experience having played for Ottawa in the CPSL.

Angelo Sestito 7 Defender 5’10” 173lbs n/a Played for the Calgary Storm in 2003. Played for the Edmonton Drillers from 1998-2000

Gordon Chin 8 Midfielder 5’6” 145lbs 20 Played for the Vancouver Whitecaps in 2003. Captain of the U-20 National team.

Daniel Drummond 9 Midfielder 6’0” 170lbs n/a Has played in the Alberta Major League for Edmonton Victoria.

Paul Dhaliwal 10 Midfielder 6’1” 173lbs 22 Played for NAIT before moving on the play NCAA with Bowling Green University.

Carmello Rago Jr. 11 Midfielder 5’9” 160lbs 17 Played on the Canadian U17 National team. Spent last year playing in Chile for Puerto Montt.

Chris Kooy 12 Midfielder 5’10” 160lbs n/a Played for the Calgary Celtics in the Alberta Major League.

Willy Gonzalez 13 Midfielder 6’0” 155lbs n/a Played in the Alberta Major League for Edmonton-Chile.
