Austin's Lewis Named Kicker Of The Year

NEW YORK - Austin Wranglers K MARK LEWIS (5-11, 200, Florida International) was selected the 2007 Kicker of the Year as voted by AFL head coaches, players, fans, and the Arena Football League Writers Association (AFLWA), the League announced today.

Lewis, who earned All-Arena First Team honors last week, ranked second among kickers in scoring (155 points) while connecting on 15-of-25 (60.0 percent) field-goal attempts and converting 110-of-118 extra-point attempts, including a streak of 48 straight which tied as the longest of the season (Tampa Bay's Seth Marler). He also registered 33 touchbacks.

Other candidates included: Dallas' TODD SIEVERS, San Jose's A.J. HAGLUND, Tampa Bay's SETH MARLER, and Utah's STEVE VIDETICH.
