Austin Staats to Undergo Knee Surgery

San Diego Seals News Release
The San Diego Seals announced today that left-handed forward Austin Staats will undergo knee surgery. The timeline for his return is unknown at this point.
"It's a tough blow for Austin as he was gearing up for a big year," said General Manager and Head Coach Patrick Merrill. "We'll miss him on the floor but couldn't be more confident in our offense, especially the lefties. We had a huge free agent signing in August, bringing in Dane Dobbie. Our all-time leading scorer Casey Jackson is back. So is Zack Greer, who led the team in goals last year. Plus, we've added first-round [draft] pick Mac O'Keefe. Austin will still be around, and a huge part of our team. We wish him a healthy recovery."
