Austin Bold FC to Hold Second Open Tryout Next Month

AUSTIN, Texas - Austin Bold FC announced today that registration for the second open tryout for the 2019 season is open. Tryouts will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 12 and Thursday, Dec. 13 at TBK Bank Sports Complex in Bettendorf, Iowa. Players will have an opportunity to demonstrate their talent for ABFC Head Coach Marcelo Serrano and the scouting staff.

Online registration is available at AustinBoldFC.com/player-tryouts. Cost for registration is $170 and will include two (2) training shirts and refreshments during the session. The tryout will consist of each participant playing in up to five (5) 30-minute, 11v11 matches.

Following the conclusion of tryouts, select players may be asked to attend a combine, which will be held in Austin, Texas with the first team during the preseason in January or February 2019.

Austin Bold FC has announced a total of 11 players (Faris Abdi, Xavier Báez, Edson Braafheid, Darío Conca, Kléber Gladiator, Sonny Guadarrama, Promise Isaac, Sean McFarlane, Marcelo Saragosa, Valeri Saramutin, Kris Tyrpak) for the 2019 inaugural season. The club will announce additional player signings in the coming weeks.

On Oct. 24, the club broke ground on Bold Stadium, a 5,036-seat soccer-specific stadium to be located adjacent to the Grand Plaza at Circuit of The Americas (COTA), the premier destination for entertainment and motorsports in the United States. The stadium is the first soccer-specific stadium built in Central Texas and has been engineered to provide an outstanding experience for both fans and players ahead of the Bold's inaugural Spring 2019 season.

Austin Bold FC is preparing for its inaugural USL season in 2019. Preseason will commence in February, with the regular season kicking off in March.
