Austin Aztex News Release
AUSTIN, Texas (www.austinaztex.com) - For the second time in the last month, the Austin Aztex and Crystal Palace have reached an agreement to send a player from Baltimore to Austin. Midfielder Tsuyoshi Yoshitake will be joining the club on loan for the remainder of the season, beginning on September 8, to sure up the Aztex depth in the midfield, where the club has been ravaged by injuries all year long.
"We played against him last year and we liked what we saw when he was on Charleston and he looked great when we played him this year at home as well," Head Coach Adrian Heath said. "We're at the stage in the season where we have to really keep our players healthy and with the banged-up midfield, he'll be a great addition to the squad."
The Mie Prefecture, Japan, native has played in 24 of Crystal Palace's 25 games and scored three of his team's 18 goals, in addition to chipping in with an assist.
Yoshitake previously played for the Charleston Battery before taking residence in Baltimore and has added stints at Tokyo Verdy 1969 and Yokohoma FC (Japan).
One month ago, the Aztex acquired Randi Patterson from Baltimore. Since his acquisition, the speedy forward scored the Aztex game-clinching goal against Carolina and assisted on Yohance Marshall's header in a draw at Vancouver.
Austin's next match is on Saturday against NSC Minnesota at 7:30 p.m. at House Park. A win by the Aztex would put the club back into first place, where it has sat for much of the season with only six games remaining on the schedule.
