Albany Attack News Release
(Albany,NY)....The Albany Attack has consummated a three-team trade between Albany, the New Jersey Storm and the New York Saints. The Attack sent forward Mike Ladouceur, currently on Albany's holdout list, to the New Jersey Storm in exchange for forward Brian Bendig and then traded Bendig along with Attack forwards Josh Coffman, John Madigan and Doug Shanahan and Albany's first round selection in the 2003 Entry Draft to the New York Saints for forward Rusty Kruger and defenseman Tim O'Brien.
Kruger, a 5'8" 175 lb. six-year veteran, resides in Shelbourne, Ontario and was the Saints' second leading scorer this season with 9goals and 5 assists for 14 points in four games.
"Rusty will make an immediate impact on our offensive right side. We have been looking for the right player to fit in with Josh Sanderson and Gary Rosyski and Rusty certainly fits that mold. His physical offensive style will be a welcome addition to our offense and he is a power play specialist, with 5 power play goals this season", stated head coach Bob McMahon.
O'Brien, a 6'2" 200 lb. defenseman from Burlington, Ontario will be filling in for the injured Scott MacDonell.
Both Kruger and O'Brien will dress this weekend as the Attack host a home and home series with the Rochester Knighthawks on Saturday and Sunday.
