Atlantic City Blackjacks Assign Two Offensive Players to Roster

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ- The Atlantic City Blackjacks announce that two players have been assigned to the team roster. Per League and team rules, terms are not disclosed. The free agency signing period for the Arena Football League began on Monday, March 4.

Glen Haisley, Offensive Line

Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Haisley attended Prairie View A&M from 2012 to 2015. Over the course of those years, he played on the offensive line for 32 games. His senior year he played a large role in the team finishing with a record of 8-2. The Panthers were the highest scoring offense that year.

In 2016 Haisley turned pro and signed with the Arizona Rattlers of the IFL. The following season the Rattlers posted a 13-4 record and a bid in the Indoor Football League Championship. Arizona's offense lead the league in rushing yards and rushing yards per game that year. They ranked second in scoring, points per game, total offense, and yards per game. The Rattlers went on to win that championship game, led by Hailsey and the strong offense with a score of 50-41 against the Sioux Falls Storm. Hailsey has also started 17 games for the Jacksonville Sharks of the NAL. In 2019 he showcased his abilities in the Spring League in Austin, Texas.

Leonardo Bates, Offensive Line

Bates is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana and played college football at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette from 2008 to 2012. He was the team's starter in his final two and a half years while helping the Ragin' Cajuns to 27 wins. For his career he played in 45 games and was a two-time All-Sun Belt Conference performer.

His professional career started in 2014 after he was assigned to the New Orleans VooDoo. Bates appeared in 12 games for the VooDoo as a rookie. He went on to play for them in 2015 as well and played in 12 games that season. In 2016 he was assigned to the Portland Timber and in 2017 he was assigned to the Tampa bay Storm.

The Atlantic City Blackjacks' inaugural campaign will begin on the road on Saturday, April 27th against the three-time League champions, Philadelphia Soul, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Kickoff time will be announced at a later date. The Blackjacks will play their first ever home game at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall on Saturday, May 4 against the Columbus Destroyers.
