Atlanta Vision News Release

Atlanta, GA. The ABA Atlanta Vision professional basketball team successfully completed its first sold-out open player tryout camp during the 4th of July weekend. "We are very pleased with the turn out of great players, scouts, vendors and Vision supporters during the holiday weekend," commented General Manager, Dennis Scott. "Atlanta Vision is expanding to become one of the best places for a young basketball player to develop and grow into a true professional athlete on and off the court."

Local Georgia talent, as well as talent from as far away as Hawaii, Wisconsin, Texas and New Jersey battled for an invitation back to the Atlanta Vision camp to be held November 1st. "Players were exposed to true vital measurements, strength conditioning, and the expertise of Dennis Scott," stated Atlanta Vision owner Quentin Townsend. "It was a phenomenal experience and we had to turn players away at the door who did not pre-register."

Atlanta Vision will hold one last open player tryout for the 2005-2006 Vision season on Saturday, October 15th and Sunday, October 16th at the Samson's Center. Players and scouts can view pictures and statistics of each tryout participant on the Vision's website, www.theatlantavision.com under Tryout Profiles. Interested players are encouraged to pre-register online to ensure a spot at the October Tryout Camp. "We are looking to invite approximately 25 players to our Vet Camp," stated Townsend. "The Atlanta Vision is idea for talented overlooked players or those not selected to play in the NBA because the Vision provides exposure, development, and the platform to play competitively for 48 minutes. Our new team is guaranteed to bring non-stop, high-flying basketball excitement to loyal Atlanta fans."

Dennis Scott and the Atlanta Vision staff will also hold a Youth Back-to-School Basketball Clinic on Saturday, August 20th. The Atlanta Vision 36 game season begins November thru March with 18 games at The Samson's Center, 6400 Woodrow Road, Lithonia, GA 30038. The ABA was made famous by Julius "Dr. J" Erving, the red, white and blue ball, innovative rules and fan-friendly affordable entertainment. The Atlanta Vision is one of six teams that comprise the newly re-named Spencer Haywood Division of the ABA.

Tryout pre-registration, youth camp registration, season passes, VIP tickets and group packages are all available for purchase on-line. For more information, please visit www.theatlantavision.com, email info@theatlantavision.com or call 770 736 5181 or visit www.abalive.com.
