Atlanta United 2 vs Ottawa Fury FC Rescheduled
June 16, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Atlanta United 2 News Release
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (June 17, 2018) -Atlanta United 2 and Ottawa Fury FC played to a 1-1 score but the match was suspended in the 44th minute due to inclement weather.
Due to lightning striking in the area of Coolray Field, the match will resume at a future date in the 44th minute with a score of 1-1.
The night began with a 3-hour weather delay and kicked-off shortly after 10 p.m., but ATL UTD 2 started fast and scored in the third minute after Andrew Carleton gathered a long diagonal pass from Oliver Shannon on the left side of Ottawa's 18-yard-box. The 17-year-old Homegrown created space in a one-on-one situation and attempted to send in a low cross, but the ball was redirected by Fury FC defender Eddie Edward for an own-goal. Ottawa, however, equalized in the 10th minute when Jamar Dixon played Kevin Oliveira in behind Atlanta's defense to tie the match.
