
Atlanta Braves Manager Fredi Gonzalez Headlines 2012 Hot Stove Event

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves annual Hot Stove Gathering is scheduled for Monday January 30th from 5:30 until 8pm at the Forum and leading the roster of guests is Atlanta Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez. Gonzalez is entering his second season as the Atlanta manager. He previously served as the third base coach under future hall of famer Bobby Cox in addition to managing the Florida Marlins. Proceeds from the event benefit the Braves Miracle Field of Rome which broke ground last August.
"We are excited to welcome Fredi to our tenth annual Hot Stove event," said Rome General Manager Michael Dunn. "This year marks our 10th season in Rome and we are proud to have such a wonderful line up of special guests.
Along with Gonzalez highlighting the Hot Stove event will be Danville Braves manager Jonathan Schuerholz, Atlanta Braves third base coach Brian Snitker, Atlanta Braves Player Development Staff, and the 2012 Rome field staff including manager Randy Ingle. More special guests will be announced in the coming days.
Ticketing options includes a special $50 ticket that will be limited to the first 50 fans. This tickets includes a 30 minutes cocktail reception meet and greet with the evening's special guests and gift bag.
General admission tickets are $30 each for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. All tickets include heavy hor d'oeuvres and the opportunity for autographs. A special question and answer session will begin at 7pm and door prizes will be given out throughout the evening.
Once again this year the Rome Braves will hold a silent auction from 5:30pm-7:00pm. Items have been donated from Major and Minor League teams across the country.
The Miracle Field is a specialized material made of latex free rubber that provides a safe surface for anyone to be able to play baseball. The complex will be complete with dugouts, restrooms, and a refreshment stand. The project is a partnership between the Atlanta Braves Foundation and the Miracle League Association, a nationally recognized association that provides opportunities for children and adults with disabilities to play Miracle League baseball, regardless of their abilities. Play will begin in spring of 2012.
