Atlanta at Ottawa Tonight

October 1, 2014 - North American Soccer League (NASL)
Atlanta Silverbacks News Release

The Silverbacks and Fury tonight meet for the second time in three weeks. They've split the two games so far this year "" both played in Atlanta - with Ottawa claiming a 3-0 win on Sept. 20.

Atlanta is struggling right now, having lost five of their last six matches including Saturday's 1-0 home loss to San Antonio. Ottawa is coming off a 2-3 home loss to Minnesota on Saturday. Previously they had earned results in 5 of their 6 matches.

"We're looking to bounce back," Atlanta coach Jason Smith said this week. "I thought we played very well in our last game and were unfortunate not to get result. Going to Ottawa, I was impressed with their work rate when we played them a few weeks ago. We know we have to match their effort, increase our work rate. I thought we did that on Saturday and we're looking to do the same this week."

Atlanta used a 4-4-2 formation for the first time in a while over the weekend, which resulted in out-shooting San Antonio 16-3. It's likely they'll continue that shape, though lineup changes may be in store with the availability of Pablo Cruz (suspended last match), Junior Burgos (back from injury), and newly signed forward Shaka Bangura.
