The Astros took the lead right back in the bottom of the fourth inning when first baseman Tyler White, with runners at first and second base, drove a RBI single into left field. The hit was just a part of a big debut for White in Greeneville. In his first action with the team after being called up from the Gulf Coast League Astros, the Western Carolina product finished three-for-four with a walk and one RBI.

In the fifth inning, the Astros extended their 2-1 lead. With two outs, Juan Santana singled to give the Astros a base runner. With Parker Hipp batting, Santana moved over to second base on a wild pitch. Then, Hipp put the ball into play to the left side of the infield and reached first safely on a throwing error while Santana moved all the way around for a score to put the Astros on top 3-1.

Over the final four innings, three Astros relief pitchers held the Twins scoreless on just two hits. Between Gerardo Ramirez, J.D. Osborne and Gonzalo Sanudo, the Astros relievers combined for 4.0 innings, two hits, 1 walk and four strikeouts. Finally, Sanudo closed the game and picked up his third save.

The winning pitcher for the Astros was starting right-hander Jandel Gustave (W, 2-2). Over the course of 5.0 innings, Gustave gave up two hits, one earned run, two walks and struck out five.

Following a league-wide off day on Tuesday that coincides with the MLB All-Star Game, the Astros will be back at home on Wednesday to begin a three-game series with the Princeton Rays. Game time is scheduled for 7:00pm. Gates will open at 6:00pm as there will be a Christmas in July celebration presented by GreenevilleSun.com and GreenevilleMarketplace.com.
