Greeneville, TN - The Greeneville Astros clinched the franchise's second consecutive series and their first shutout of the 2015 season with a 1-0 victory over the Danville Braves.

Superb pitching and timely hitting combined to give the Astros their fourth win of the season in a two-hour, one-minute affair. It was also the team's fourth victory by one run.

Left-hander Junior Garcia started on the mound for Greeneville and held the Braves to just two hits while striking four batters. The 19-year-old maintained his flawless 0.00 ERA across five full innings.

The win is credited to righty reliever Ryan Deemes, a 36th Round selection out of Nicholls State University, who pitched three full frames allowing just two hits and striking out one Danville batter.

Reliever Zac Grotz, a 28th Rounder out of Embry Riddle University earned his first save of the season in only his second appearance on the mound. The right-hander struck out one batter in a perfect ninth inning performance to conclude the game.

Offensively, the Astros grinded out the victory against stout Braves pitching for the one hit, one-run decision.

First Baseman Conner Goedert posted the lone Astros hit and crossed the plate to score the single run as he continued his rampage at the plate. Goedert concluded the series against the Braves with six hits in eight at-bats.

Greeneville left fielder Brauly Mejia notched the RBI. Centerfielder Myles Straw and designated hitter Justin Garcia represented the other two Astros besides Goedert to reach base.

The victorious Astros look to take the momentum from the shutout win into their series with the Princeton Rays beginning with a 7:00 PM matchup on Monday on the road.

The team will return home to Pioneer Park on Thursday, July 2nd with a 7:00 PM first-pitch against the Elizabethton Twins.
