Greeneville, TN - On Saturday night at Pioneer Park, following a one-hour rain delay to start, the Greeneville Astros (3-2) rallied to erase a two-run deficit with a three-run seventh inning and even their series with the Danville Braves (3-2). With the win, the Astros are tied with the Kingsport Mets atop the Appalachian League West.

The Astros found themselves down 3-1 at the seventh inning stretch. However, the first two batters in the bottom half of the inning, Gabriel Bracamonte and Arturo Michelena, each drew walks and shortstop Osvaldo Duarte moved them over to second and third on a sacrifice bunt. Then, centerfielder Myles Straw singled to bring in a run and Aaron Mizell grounded to second to score another and tie the game. Finally, Connor Goedert hit a fly ball that dropped into centerfield for a RBI single and what proved to be the winning run.

Goedert has been on a tear in the series. After going three-for-three on the night with a triple, a walk, and two RBI, he is now five-for-five at the plate over the last two games. Furthermore, his batting average on the season has soared to .467 to lead the team.

Greeneville's starting pitcher, Erasmo Pinales, went five innings, allowing two runs with one earned on three hits. The 2014 Dominican Summer League midseason All-Star also collected five strikeouts on the night in his first appearance of the season.

At the time of Pinales' departure from the game, the Astros were trailing 2-1. Danville got on the scoreboard in the second inning with a Jake Lanning ground out with runners at second and third. However, the Astros surrendered another run on the play following an errant throw back to third.

The Astros' lone run outside the seventh inning rally came on Goedert's RBI triple in the third to score Mizell, who initially got on with a walk. The score remained 2-1 until the Braves tacked on one more run in the sixth inning on a wild pitch with runners at first and third.

Alex Winkelman, the left-hander selected by the Astros in the 21st round out of Southeast Missouri State, came on to relieve Pinales in the top of the sixth inning. Making his second appearance of the young season, Winkelman allowed one run and struck out three over his two innings of work and was credited with his first professional win.

After the Astros rallied in the seventh to take the lead, right-hander Samil De Los Santos retired the side in the eighth and recorded one strikeout. Then, lefty Steve Naemark came on to earn the save in the ninth, but it was not easy. With runners at second and third with one out following some miscues by the Astros, Naemark managed to get a fly out to right field and then closed the game as the final Braves' batter struck out swinging.

The Astros will conclude their three-game series against the Braves on Sunday, June 28th with the rubber match set for a 2:00pm start. Gates will open at 1:00pm.
