Greeneville, TN- The people of Greeneville packed the stands of Pioneer Park for the final home regular season game. A record 3,437 fans were in attendance to see the Greeneville Astros fall to the Johnson City Cardinals 8-1. Johnson City was in control of the game from the beginning. They scored two runs in the second, four in the third, and one in the fourth and fifth. The Astros would only manage one run in the bottom of the sixth. Greeneville finished their nine game home stand 7-2 and one game up in the Western Division of the Appalachian League.
The Greeneville Astros and Johnson City Cardinals meet again on Thursday in Johnson City after a league off day tomorrow. This was the final home regular season for the Astros.
