Assistant Coach Joins Millrats

Manchester, New Hampshire: The Manchester Millrats (ABA) have announced that Jonathan Whitkin will join their staff for the 2007-2008 season as an Assistant Coach. He comes to the Millrats from the Connecticut Sun (WNBA) where he served as an advance scout and video coordinator this past summer. He also currently works for the New Jersey Nets (NBA) as basketball operations consultant. In 2005, Jonathan was the Director of Men's and Women's Basketball Operations at Harvard University. Prior to that position, he interned with the Philadelphia 76ers (NBA) in operations, conducting player workouts and statistical and video preparation and analysis.

Jonathan is from Swampscott, MA, and he graduated cum laude from Elon University with a bachelor's degree in Sports Management & Business. The Millrats are still interviewing for the position of head coach and are encouraging locals with an interest to send a resume to the club.

The Millrats are a new entry in the American Basketball Association (ABA), and will play their home games in the 'Fieldhouse' on the campus of Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, NH. The season and home opener is set for Sunday November 11, 2007 at 4:35 p.m. versus the Boston United Eagles.
