Ask the CEO

Question from Henry W, Rochester NY and Warren P from Minneapolis MN (combined questions).

"Would the ABA consider coming back to Rochester NY and Minneapolis/St. Paul?"

Answer: Henry, Warren and the many others who have written asking this same question, the answer is yes. If everyone who has written and called asking a similar question would attend the games in each city, we could probably fill the stands. We do have ownership groups that have inquired about putting an ABA team in Rochester and M/SP. We decided not to do it this season but are definitely looking at it for next season. We believe the ABA game, with its unique rules, is more fun, faster-paced, more exciting, higher scoring - and certainly more affordable for the fans. Walmart competes against Target. Home Depot competes against Lowes. McDonalds competes against Burger King. Competition is good. And we believe the fans should have the final answer. Please keep your eye on the website - and we'll keep you posted on our progress in each market. Again, thank you for your questions, and even more so, for the wonderful comments about the ABA and how much you enjoyed the games. Incidentally, you'll be able to follow the ABA on our new PlayON! Sports/Turner webcasts. You might want to click the ABA Vision banner and request more information. If you have a question, please email conniejoenewman@abalive.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
