Asheville's Meeking Named NBDL Player of Month

GREENVILLE, S.C., December 1 – Antonio Meeking of the Asheville Altitude has been named the NBA's National Basketball Development League player of the month for games in November.

Meeking, 6-7, 270, averaged 27.8 minutes, 23.3 points and 7.0 rebounds through four games in November. The Louisiana Tech ('03) product currently leads the NBDL in scoring and is among league leaders in field goal percentage at .594 (41-69). His rebounding average is eighth in the league.

Meeking has recorded two of the top five scoring nights in the NBDL this season, putting up 28 at Fayetteville on Nov. 20 and 26 points against Huntsville on Nov. 21. His 13 field goals made against Fayetteville is tops in the league. His lowest scoring night of the season was 17 points against Fayetteville on Nov. 27, but he also grabbed 10 rebounds in that game.

Also nominated for NBDL player of the month were Ricky Minard of Columbus, David Young of Fayetteville, Kirk Haston of Florida, Mengke Bateer of Huntsville and James Thomas of Roanoke.

The Altitude (2-2) is host to Huntsville (3-2) Friday at the Asheville Civic Center.
