Asheville acquires James Lang
February 18, 2004 - NBA G League (G League) News Release
GREENVILLE, S.C., February 18 â The Asheville Altitude has acquired James Lang from the National Basketball Development League available player pool. Lang takes the roster spot vacated by Mamadou N'diaye, who signed a 10-day contract with the Atlanta Hawks to become the league's seventh NBDL-to-NBA "Gatorade Callup".
A 6-10, 305, center from Birmingham, Ala., Lang was an early entry into the 2003 NBA Draft out of Central Park Christian High School. He was a second round selection (48th overall) of the New Orleans Hornets, but was placed on the injured list on October 27 and released on Dec. 29. He did not play in a regular season game for the Hornets, but averaged 1.5 points and 0.5 rebounds in four preseason games.
Lang is expected to be in uniform when Asheville (13-13) visits Huntsville (13-13) Friday at the Von Braun Center.
