West Coast Hotshots News Release

Bend, OR- The Central Oregon Hotshots is pleased to announce that team captain and fan favorite Arthur Lewis Jr. will return to the team for the 2007 International Basketball League season. In addition to playing point guard, Lewis will also work in the Hotshots' front office as the Director of Promotions.

Lewis, an IBL All-Star in 2006, will be working to get local youth and performance groups involved in Central Oregon's games to make a Hotshots' game night a true community entertainment experience. Lewis will also run a youth basketball camp prior to each of 12 home games featuring Hotshots' players as instructors.

"I want the community to feel like this is their team," said Lewis.

Lewis is excited to return to Bend, where he has developed a close relationship with local fans. "Bend has really become a second home to me," said Lewis, adding, "I keep in touch with many of the families I've met in two seasons there. Lots of people from back home (Maryland) want to come visit because I talk about it so much."

Joining Lewis in the front office are Augustine Flores (part owner), Kevin Clemetson (General Manager), and Joshua Baker (sales and game day operations).

Stephen Moss-Kelley, former Hotshot and owner of the expansion Phoenix Flame is impressed with Lewis' connection with Bend and its basketball fans. "The people there have really responded to Arthur, and he loves the community," said Moss-Kelley. "Having him more involved with the team will help take the Hotshots to the next level."

Lewis is grateful for the great experiences during his first two seasons with the Hotshots. "I really want to thank the community for making me feel like an adopted son," said Lewis.

Performance groups such as youth bands, dance groups, cheer teams, choirs, martial arts groups, that are interested in performing on a Hotshots game night can contact the Hotshots at 541-350-8939.

The Hotshots' season kicks off on Friday, April 20 when the Salem Stampede comes to town.
