Jacksonville Armada FC News Release
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville Armada FC and CW17 in Jacksonville have announced the extension of their current television partnership for the Armada's next two seasons.
CW17 will continue to broadcast all of the Armada's weekend matches in the North American Soccer League, both home and away, on a live basis. The station will also air midweek matches on a delayed-highlights basis on the Armada Extra Time show on Wednesdays at 11 p.m.
The timeslot for Armada Kickoff, the popular weekly Armada preview show, will also change from Fridays to Thursday nights at 10:00pm.
CW17 VP/GM Marc Hefner, said: "CW17 is pleased to extend our continuing partnership with the Armada for two more seasons. This demonstrates the commitment CW17 makes to broadcast local sports and entertainment programming to viewers throughout NE Florida and Southern Georgia. Nothing beats enjoying a professional soccer match in person, but for those who cannot get to the matches, they will be able to enjoy a national quality HD live television broadcast for nearly all the matches on CW17."
Armada president Steve Livingstone, said: "We're thrilled to be extending our very strong relationship with CW17 for at least the next two Armada seasons. CW17 has been a great partner and supporter of the Armada and soccer in general as well as a great champion for our local community.
"Extending our already solid partnership will allow our fans to continue to follow the Armada FC throughout the NASL season, both home and away and our broadcasts on CW17 will not only be appointment viewing for our supporters who can't make the match but we hope will continue to expose an emerging younger audience and demographic to the Armada. In addition, the new-look weekly show at the earlier broadcast time on Thursdays will give fans a deep dive into what the team has done and is doing to prepare for our matches."
The new-look Armada Kickoff hosted by Cole Pepper and new on-air talent Ashlea Bullington, will make its debut this Thursday at 10 p.m. The first show of the 2016 season will feature interview clips with Armada FC head coach Tony Meola and new and returning players talking about their expectations for the upcoming season.
Armada Kickoff will also feature the Analyst Roundtable presented by Subway with Episcopal School of Jacksonville athletics director Andy Kidd and former MLS player David Hayes. Bob's Bootroom presented by Clear Touch Interactive and Collaboration Solutions Inc., which features the in-depth analysis from club personality Bob Veal, will also return.
The half-hour program gives viewers an inside look at the club's important current events in addition to a weekly Around the NASL segment presented by Nike.
The Armada will also continue to partner with local television production company Gemstone Media who produce all of the Armada's live and recorded television programming.
