
Arizona United Soccer Club Adds Joseph Toby

PEORIA, Ariz. (Wednesday, April 9th 2014) - Arizona United Soccer Club (Arizona United SC) - Arizona's only professional soccer team playing in the USL PRO league - announced today that the club has added defender Joseph Toby from Orlando City SC, pending league and USSF approval.
Toby, 24, joins Arizona United SC after signing his first professional contract in January 2014. Toby featured for Orlando City U-23's in the 2012 USL Premier Development League (USL PDL) season, where he logged over 1,400 minutes in 16 matches. In the 2013 USL PDL season, Toby appeared in 11 matches and notched two assists for the IMG Academy Bradenton.
Hailing from Jacksonville, Florida, Toby was a four-year started at Flager College from 2009-12, where he received numerous awards and accolades. Toby was a three-time National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Southeast Region selection, a Daktronics first-team All-American in 2011, a two-time Daktronics all-region pick and was a three-time All-Peach Belt Conference first-team selection. During that time, Toby appeared in 80 matches, scored 25 goals and notched 22 assists.
With the signing of Toby, Arizona United SC now have 14 players on the roster for the upcoming season. Earlier this week Arizona United SC announced the signings of goalkeeper Michael D'Arrigo and Evan Newton, defenders London Woodberry, Daniel Antúnez and Scott Morrison, midfielders Charles Renken, Matt Kassel and Widner Saint Cyr, and forwards Bradlee Baladez, Brad Stisser, Brandon Swartzendruber and Kadeem Dacres. Forward Jonathan Top has joined the club on loan from FC Dallas.
Arizona United SC will make its inaugural USL PRO debut at home on Saturday, April 12th at the Peoria Sports Complex against the expansion Oklahoma City Energy. Gates to Peoria Sports Complex will open at 5:30 p.m. with the match slated to kick off at 7:00 p.m.
